I’ve been shooting a lot in Whitnall Park in Milwaukee County as it is close to my current house and there is a lot to shoot there.  I’m pretty close to the Wehr Nature Preserve so I have a good chance at seeing wildlife and also have a good chance on seeing a lot of cool stuff that usually wouldn’t be so close to a city.

Here’s a recent one that is at the lake near the conservatory, I shot it for the “streamline” monthly challenge on NSOP.

That one was fun to shot, but I also nearly dropped my camera/tripod off of the ledge I was shooting from.  Slightly tricky but that is what makes it more memorable.  I’ve got another one that I shot a couple weeks before in earlier fall from the ‘prairie’ section of the park.

It was a great time up there, busy, lots of pics, lots of fun, and great.

The hilight of the trip was seeing a wolf and her puppy, although they were scared off so quickly that we did not get a chance to take any pics of them.  It is very rare to see a wolf at all, and a puppy is even less likely.  We were the rock stars of the island for a couple days.

This is a shot of the progress of the fireplace addition at the cabin. Its been a long time coming but finally is almost in place. It should be really great to sit out and play games, drink, etc with a fire and music under the cover of the porch.
